Abstract: The Raman, IR and UV spectra of 1,3-di-tert-butylimidazol-2-ylidene (Bu<^tNCH=CHNBu^t)C^II and quantum chemistry calculations of its normal mode frequencies and eigenvectors and the NICS index are reported.
