Abstract: The direct reaction of 2-ethoxy-1-ethoxycarbonyl-1,2-dihydroquinoline (EEDQ) with chitosan amino groups, which resulted in the formation of N-(ethoxycarbonyl)chitosan, was found and confirmed chemically and by IR and ¹H NMR spectroscopy.
