Abstract: Unsymmetrically substituted monophthalocyanine complexes containing a free phthalodinitrile unit were synthesised with the use of microwave irradiation for the first time. The possibility of synthesising phthalocyanine heterodimers starting from unsymmetrically substituted monophthalocyanine 3a was demonstrated for the first time.
