Abstract: The results of dynamic surface elasticity measurements in mixed aqueous solutions of sodium poly(styrene sulfonate) (PSS) and dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (DTAB) are inconsistent with the model of Goddard et al. proposing complex formation in the surface layer and show that hydrophobic segment/segment and segment/surfactant tail interactions should be taken into account.
