Abstract: O-3,5-Dinitrophenylketoximes obtained by treatment of ketoximes with 1,3,5-trinitrobenzene undergo acid-catalysed cyclization to give 4,6-dinitrobenzo[b]furans substituted at the 2- or 2- and 3-positions.
