Abstract: It has been found using cross correlation analysis that the effects of substituents Y and temperature on the rate of oxirane ring opening are nonadditive in the reactions of 4-nitrophenyloxirane with arylsulfonic acids (YC₆H₄SO₃H) in dioxane at 286–318 K.
