Abstract: 3-Vinyl-3-deacetylbacteriopurpurin was synthesised for the first time, and the esters of vinylbacteriopurpurin were prepared by the addition of alcohols directly to the reaction of bacteriopurpurin with p-toluenesulfonic acid.
