Abstract: A new cubane cluster [Cu4I4(AsAn3)4] was synthesized in 82% yield by the reaction of tris(p-anisyl)arsine (AsAn3) with CuI. At ambient temperature, this cluster exhibits bright yellow-green phosphorescence (λmax = 546 nm) with the quantum yield of 35% and 4.1 μs decay time.

Keywords: copper(i) complexes, tris(p-anisyl)arsine, cubane-like clusters, photoluminescence, crystal structure.
