Abstract: The conditions required for resolving racemates into enantiomers by crystallization involve a deficiency of either the conglomerator or the achiral solubiliser to promote the solubility of the compound to be resolved; in both cases the resolution can also be achieved by internal entrainment, adding a single crystal of the resolvable conglomerate.
