Abstract: (3,5-Diphenyl-1-o-tolyl-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)phenylmethanone 3a and (1-naphthalen-1-yl-3,5-diphenyl-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)phenylmethanone 4a are atropisomeric and their LAH reductions afford mixtures of atropdiastereoisomeric (3,5-diphenyl-1-o-tolyl-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)- phenylmethanoles 3b,c and (1-naphthalen-1-yl-3,5-diphenyl-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)phenylmethanoles 4b,c, respectively.
