Abstract: The reactions of 3-amino-1-aryl- and 3-amino-1-(2-thienyl)-4,4,4-trifluoro-2-buten-1-ones with 2-aminoethanol afford 1-aryl-3-(2-hydroxyethyl-amino)-4,4,4-trifluoro-2-buten-1-ones and 2-(2-thenoylmethyl)-2-trifluoromethyloxazolidine.
