Abstract: New ruthenium(ii) and ruthenium(iii) complexes with 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol as the antioxidant moiety were synthesized, and their antioxidant and antiproliferative activities were evaluated. Electrochemical behaviour and the potential of these compounds to act as inhibitors of lipid peroxidation in biological systems were explored.

Keywords: ruthenium compounds, antioxidant activity, DPPH assay, CUPRAC assay, electrochemical behaviour, antiproliferative activity, lipid peroxidation.
