Appearance of the supercritical state of carbon in the laser evaporation of low-density graphite foil

Abstract: A high concentration of nonequilibrium defects in crystallites and a low bulk density of the graphite foil obtained from thermally expanded graphite favour the explosive decomposition of the laser-heated surface layer of the substance in the supercritical state.
