Abstract: Cyclooctatetraenyldipropylborane 4 has been synthesized in 47% yield; activation parameters for bond shifting in 4 determined by lineshape analysis of the ¹³C NMR spectra are ΔG╪(298) = 67.7±0.1 kJ mol⁻¹; ΔH╪ = 58.1±0.8 kJ mol⁻¹; ΔS╪ = –32±5 kJ mol⁻¹ K⁻¹.
