Abstract: The thermolysis of 2,2’-dipropynyl sulfide in a flow system under almost unimolecular conditions, which above 830 K selectively yields propynethial and allene, is optimized by photoelectron spectroscopic real-time gas analysis and, according to semiempirical energy hypersurface calculations, possibly proceeds via an intramolecular hydrogen transfer.
