Abstract: Reaction of [Rh(C₅Me₅)(C₅H₅)]⁺ with KOBu^t in tetrahydrofuran gives [Rh(C₅Me₄CH₂)(C₅H₅)]; it reacts readily with halides (R—X) to give [Rh(C₅Me₄CH₂R)(C₅H₅)]X, which can be converted into [Rh₂(C₅Me₄CH₂R)₂Cl₄].
