Abstract: The first benzotriazinyl radicals containing fluorine atoms in both aryl substituents were synthesized from polyfluorophenylhydrazines and 4-fluoro-N-phenylbenzimidoyl chloride. Their crystal structure and magnetic properties were studied thus revealing strong antiferromagnetic interactions (J/kB from –160 to –185 K).

Keywords: organofluorine compounds, heterocycles, organic radicals, 1,2,4-benzotriazin-4-yls, magnetostructural correlations.
