Abstract: The possibility of synthesizing and crystallizing nanosized ZSM-5 zeolite directly in the proton form in one stage within 1–3 min under microwave irradiation has been demonstrated for the first time. The synthesized materials were examined using X-ray diffraction, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, N2 sorption and ammonia temperatureprogrammed desorption. The synthesized zeolites consist of tablet-shaped particles about 100 nm thick, have a developed specific surface area (441–484 m2 g−1), a micro-mesoporous structure (26–27% mesopores) and a bimodal distribution of acidic centers by strength, with a predominance of weak acidic centers.

Keywords: nanosized ZSM-5 zeolite, microwave irradiation, ultrafast synthesis, proton form, micro/mesopores, interparticle porosity.
