Design, synthesis and antitumor activity of new s-triazine–2-hydroxybenzophenone hybrids

Abstract: 2-Hydroxybenzophenones synthesized via the Friedel–Crafts reaction between the properly substituted phenols and benzoyl chlorides were then O-alkylated with mono/disubstituted cyanuric chlorides. The substituent choice was guided by the principle of active substructure splicing. The thus obtained sixteen s-triazine–2-hydroxybenzophenone hybrids were assessed in vitro using the MTT assay.
