Abstract: Ultra-long (about 150 μm) copper nanowires (CuNWs) with high aspect ratio (over 2000) were obtained via hydrothermal method and their application as a supercapacitor electrode was demonstrated. Cyclic voltammetry reveals high areal capacitance (61 mF cm–2 at 1 mV s–1) and cyclic stability with capacitance increasing up to 107% after 1000 cycles at 5 mA cm–2. The proposed approach to the synthesis and fabrication of electrodes based on oxidized CuNWs is promising for the development of supercapacitor components with one-dimensional nanostructures.

Keywords: copper nanowires, hydrothermal synthesis, oleylamine, film, electrode, supercapacitor.
