Abstract: Using thermal decomposition of palladium acetylacetonate in a nonisothermal mode, we synthesized two models of carbon-supported Pd-based nanoparticles with similar Pd lattice parameters and varying sizes and the presence or absence of a PdO phase in the electrocatalyst. These model systems were examined in the electrocatalytic processes of CO stripping, ethanol and formic acid electrooxidation reactions, and electrochemical reduction of hydrogen peroxide.

Keywords: Pd nanoparticles, palladium oxide, palladium acetylacetonate, thermal decomposition, electrocatalysis.
