Abstract: A one-pot method is proposed for the transformation of synthesis gas (syngas) in the presence of aromatic hydrocarbons into alkylated products using in situ generated MoS2 catalysts. o-Xylene serves simultaneously as a reaction medium and a substrate, enabling up to 64% CO conversion and 92% carbon incorporation into liquid products. This approach provides a promising route to fuel-range hydrocarbons from syngas without intermediate alcohol separation.

Keywords: alkyl aromatics, naphthenic hydrocarbons, highly dispersed molybdenum sulfide, in situ catalysts, carbon-neutral technologies, syngas conversion.
