Abstract: Octahedral pseudomorphs of nanostructured silver co-modified with amine and aryl-anchored groups have been found to exhibit a synergistic effect in practical applications of surface- enhanced Raman spectroscopy due to a combination of enhanced chemical sorption and charge transfer effects for quinone analytes. This new approach allows combinatorial modification of the surface of SERS-active materials for selective capturing and detection of target analytes.
