Energy characteristics of carbon spheres

Abstract: The mixtures of template carbon foams and carbon spheres were synthesized by pyrolysis of hexane over $\mathrm{Ni}$ foam, followed by graphitization. All samples were analyzed by scanning and transmission electron microscopy, the BET method, thermogravimetry, Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. The standard enthalpy of formation of the presented material ($\mathrm{\Delta_{f}\mathit{H}_{298}^0 = 1.29 \pm 0.35~kJ~g^{-1}}$) was determined for the first time.
