The surprising diacylation of diethyl (ethoxycarbonylmethyl)phosphonate

Abstract: Deprotonation of diethyl (ethoxycarbonylmethyl)-phosphonate with NaH followed by treatment with acyl chlorides affords surprisingly the corresponding C,C-diacylated derivatives as the predominating products.
