Numerical method for large-scale turbulence on Smagorinsky model

Numerical method for the direct simulation of large-scale turbulence based on Smagorinsky model for the subgrid turbulence is described. The method contains a number of interesting ideas. Results of test calculations of supersonic shear layer with this method are presented.
