Abstract: A two dimensional computer model for simulation of entrained turbulent flow of pulverized reacting coal is presented. The gas phase Eulerian conservation equations of momentum, entalpy and mixture fraction are solved utilizing $k-\varepsilon$ turbulence model. In case of kinetic model additional equations for gas components mass concentration are solved. The Langragian approach is used to predict a representative number of particles trajectories. Coal devolatilization and char burnout are modeled taking into account a diffusion control. Gaseous components concentrations, temperature, and rates of chemical reactions are averaged using probability density function of rectangular form. Phases interaction is taking into account via appropriate source terms arriving in gas phase conservation equations. Four radiation fluxes model is used. For divergency provision and computation time saving PISO code and two-dimensional run method are implemented. The predictors are compared with the various experimental data available in literature on pulverized coal combustion in cylindrical furnaecs. A satisfactory agreement between calculations and measurements was demonstrated.
