Abstract:
In the paper it is shown by means of mathematical modelling that it is possible to choose the conditions under which a ast neutron reactor is forced into a nonlinear self-adjusting neutron-nuclide (SANN) regime. In the SANN regime which was found by L. P. Feoktistov [1,5–7] the state of the reactor is maintained close to the critical state without control. High burnup of $U^{238}$ (up to 40%) is possible. The stability of the SANN regime under a loss of heat-transfer medium is shown. A new variant of the SANN regime is proposed. In the new regime the deviation from criticality is diminished and the burning of actimdes is possible.
