Abstract:
The paper contains a statement of the stability problem for two-dimensional (axisymmetric) steady-state MHD-flows in the plasma accelerator channels and a scheme of its solution in the linear approach. We consider perturbations of the plasma flow in the channel with uncharged boundaries and azimuthally periodic perturbations of the electrode surfaces. Numerical experiments analyze the development of the four low azimuthal modes of small three-dimensional perturbations. They show the subsonic and transonic flows of the infinite conductive plasma to be stable.
