Abstract:
Calculations of electron transport coefficients (electrical and thermal conductivities) for gas-plasma mixtures are considered. These calculations are carried out in the Chapman-Enskog (ChE) approaches. The calculations with “switched out” electron-electron collisions were performed in parallel to estimate convergence of these approaches. This case is the so-called Lorentz gas for which the exact solution is known. The corresponding ChE approaches were compared with this exact solution to estimate convergence. The comparison shows that the 5th approach ensures the accuracy better than 1%.
