Abstract: One feature of sets of the elements generated by a genetic code is considered. Sets are calculated for unusual ways of record of the genetic information — overlappings of genes when the same site of DNA codes two amino acids sequences. The concept of elementary overlapping is entered it is an overlapping for single amino acids. Mathematical ambiguity among a component of set of elementary overlappings has been established. One of functions ambiguity is investigated in the new model offered earlier by the author. It consists that overlappings of pairs the genes, belonging to various chains of DNA, are mathematical analogs of stems of secondary structure matrix RNA. It is shown that at the expense of ambiguity it is possible to "regulate" size of free energy of a stem — functionally significant biochemical characteristic.

Keywords: overlappings of genes, ambiguity, energy of stem.
