Abstract: The numerical analysis of the solutions of the equations system describing the dynamics of concentrations of proteins p53 and Mdm2 in their interaction has been executed. A detailed numerical investigation of the p53-Mdm2-network in the basal and stress conditions was carried out. Calculations showed that the mathematical model predicts a threat of uncontrolled apoptosis and also the possibility of excessive suppression of apoptosis, which increases the risk of tumors. We studied in detail the mechanism of control of the system under stress conditions.

Keywords: p53-induced apoptosis, p53-Mdm2-network, delay differential equation, numerical simulation, Andronov–Hopf bifurcation.
