Abstract:
Filtration processes accompanying cyclic operation of oil production well are considered in which the bottom hole pressure is not constant, but varies in time periodically. The problem is solved in axisymmetric formulation for a multilayered oil reservoir consisting of high and lowpermeability layers. Oil saturation distributions are obtained for oil well operation with constant and variable bottom hole pressure. It is shown that periodic variation of bottom hole pressure upon cyclic operation of the well intensifies the cross-layer flows in the bottom hole area, which potentially can enhance oil recovery.
