Analysis by RANS/ILES method the influence of variable heat capacity on the characteristics of pressure pulsations in a high-speed air intake

Abstract: Using the RANS/ILES method, the effect of variable heat capacity on flow characteristics and pressure pulsation spectra for various modes of operation of a model high-speed air intake was analyzed. The dependence of the heat capacity on temperature is described by a fourth-degree polynomial. A brief description of the calculation method and the technology for calculating the heat capacity with a high order on the faces of the computational cells, consistent with the method for calculating flow parameters, are given. The calculations were performed at the free-stream temperature corresponding to the actual flight conditions.
