Modeling of unsteady phenomena in an axial compressor

Abstract: The flow modeling in a four-stage axial compressor is performed using Numeca FINE/Turbo software. A few approaches to a rotor-stator interaction modeling are considered: steady state with Mixing Plane, full unsteady URANS, non-linear harmonic method NLH. Time averaged and instantaneous parameters predicted by different methods are compared.
