Abstract:
This work presents a numerical study of the flows, which appear in melt of Ge in response to its step-by-step heating with vertical heaters placed around a cylindrical crucible. The numerical simulation is based on the solution of three-dimension non-stationary Navier–Stokes and heat transfer equations with the Boussinesq approximation. The results of the investigation show that control of a thermal field allows to obtain hashing of a liquid in azimuthal direction.
