Abstract:
A method for generation of 2D adaptive quadrilateral grids is presented. The resulting grid contains near-orthogonal cells that are strongly stretched along control function's singularities. The generation is performed by a variational method using a combination of grid's orthogonality and adaptivity functionals. Metric used in the adaptivity functional allows to produce both high aspect-ratio quadrilaterals along the control function's discontinuity lines and adaptation in all directions at other areas of singularity.
