Abstract:
A practical important case of mathematical modeling of heat and mass transfer in thermo-fire protection, taking into account main physico-chemical transformations, that occur in the materials at high temperature (thermal decomposition, evaporation-condensation, ablation and swelling-shrinkage), is discussed. Optimal combination of the degree of the detailed elaboration of physico-mathematical models, computer potentialities and calculation accuracy was achieved at all the development stages of calculation methods and programs. Realization of the above methods and programs showed their effectiveness practically for all types of the materials and constructions used. Comparison results of the calculated and experimental data, presented for one of the typical swelling fire-protective coatings, proved their adequacy and possible use of the developed calculation methods in practical engineering.
