Abstract:
The fall of 2023 marked the 110th anniversary of the birth of the famous Russian mathematician, PhD, associate professor, prominent specialist in the field of mathematical analysis, descriptive set theory and mathematical physics Yuri Semenovich Ochan (1913–1972). The article briefly describes the life path and fate of Yu.S. Ochan, and also gives a brief overview of the scientific and methodological heritage of the scientist and analyzes the textbooks and problem books he wrote on various sections of higher mathematics.
