Abstract: In the article, the authors draw attention to the importance of preserving and developing realistic traditions as one of the pillars of mathematical education for both schoolchildren and students. The essence of realistic traditions lies in the use of empirical sources to explain basic mathematical concepts, as well as in the use of laboratory and concrete-inductive teaching methods.
