On the approximation of discrete functions by linear functions

Abstract: A review of many results on planar, perfect and almost perfect functions is given. Mixing property of PN-functions is proved, new necessary conditions for APN-functions over the field $F_2$ with even number of arguments $n$ are found. A notion of the planar functions on quasigroups is introduced and criterion of planarity of quasigroup mapping is proved.
