Abstract: In this study, Carbon nano particles (C NPs) from neem leaves were synthesized for adsorption and photo catalytic degradation of Auramine-O (Au-O) dye used in paper industries. The synthesized C NPs were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. Dye adsorption and photo catalytic properties of C NPs were examined by studying the decolorization of dye Au-O at 5 minutes time interval using a UV-Visible spectrophotometer. The results show that C NPs acts as a better adsorbent even with shorter time and lower concentration than as photocatalysts.
