Abstract:
Basing on the hypothesis of the emission molecular orbitals (EMO) existence in single-walled carbon nanotubes generated by in-plane-electron conjugation of $p$-electrons, we studied influences of adsorbate (H$_2$ and F$_2$) nature on characteristics of electrons field emission from open single-walled ultrashort carbon nanotubes of chirality $(n,0)$. It has been shown that the adsorption of admixture atoms on the graphene surface increases the work function of the electron, moreover more considerable value of work function corresponds to more considerable electronegativity of the chemisorption atom.
