Abstract: The nanosized $\mathrm{ZnFe}_2\mathrm{O}_4$ material was synthesized using the coprecipitation method from $\mathrm{Zn}^{2+}$ and $\mathrm{Fe}^{3+}$ cations in a boiling aqueous medium. The results of TG/DSC, XRD, SEM, TEM and VSM analysis show that the $\mathrm{ZnFe}_2\mathrm{O}_4$ material prepared after annealing at $600^\circ$C had tetragonal structure, a size of $20$$50$ nm, $H_c<70$ Oe, $M_r<0.5$ emu/g and $M_s\sim2.5$ emu/g.

Keywords: sol-gel synthesis, nanopowders, zinc ferrite, magnetic properties.
