Abstract:
The sources of ethnographic museum-parks are considered. The basic prerequisites for the creation of open-air ethnographic museums are determined. The phases of ethnographic museum-parks’ formation are classified; accordingly the first phase starts in 1855 when the replica of the historic mansion with its economic infrastructures were created by Thomas Hefty in Norway, Saarbrucken, the second phase commenced in 1920 (the exposition of Estary museum-mansion with its agricultural technology implementation was realized in Sweden) and the third phase in 1959 with the development of expositions focused on industrial themes in Germany.
