Abstract:
Vedi water reservoir is fed by a glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) pipeline, which, in comparison with a metal pipeline, requires the development of special engineering solutions to ensure reliable and durable pipeline operation. Such GRP pipelines demand special technical design conditions, which often differ from standard solutions, however, at the same time non-standard engineering solutions require complex substantiations. The change of the natural stream of the Vedi and Khsorov Rivers has caused the necessity to change the way of feed pipeline. When the amount of water is low at significant distances the non-pressure motion is usually installed at the entrance parts. Proposed engineering solutions exclude the occurrence of non-pressure regimes and the threat of emerging higher speeds compared to the permitted speeds.
