Particularities of the formation and development process management of the modern large city planning and communication structure

The article deals with the theoretical issues of formation of planning and communication structure of a large city and the basic principles of management of its development at the present stage. The author emphasizes the importance of the principle of historicism as one of the basic principles determining the unity and subordination of architectural and planning solutions at all stages of development. The categorization of all major planning units and parts of the modern large city is given. The necessity of the organization of the unified system of the directed network planning structure of the city in the conditions of formation of spatial polycentricity of city territories that assumes the balanced development of system of more enlarged self-sufficient planning units and the formed uniform structure planning framework is proved.
