Tendencies of soil salinity progression and the results of situation assessment on the example of Armavir province

Abstract: Dynamics of increase of the area of salinized soils in the territory of rural communities Zartonq, Artashat, Metsamor, Mrgashat of Armavir Province is presented. It is disclosed that the area of salinized soils has increased to 296.5 ha after privatization of soils in these communities which comprises about $34.25~ \%$ of previous salinized soils' area on average. The area of salinized soils has increased to 49.4 ha or with $36 ~\%$ in Artashar village, to 35,6 ha or with $28~ \%$ in Mrgashat village, to 172.9 ha or with $42 ~\%$ in Zartonq community, to 38.6 ha or with $31~\%$ in Metsamor village. 109.7 ha or the $37~\%$ of the salinized soils' area of unsalinated soils has been the subject to low and medium salinity.
