Application of gabion structures for the regulation of the riverbed and joint reception of the surface and underflow waters of the mountain rivers

Abstract: General recommendations for using gabion structures instead of traditional typical concrete solutions on regulation nodes of the riverbed and other water intake nodes in the upper streams of mountain rivers are given, as well as constructive proposals are presented for the joint intake of underflow and surface water in the case of favorable underflow that will improve the operational conditions of these structures and the quality of water supplied to water treatment and purification plants.
