Abstract: We have considered the simplest lens consisting of refractive and diffractive lenses, in which the shape of the diffractive lens compensates for the main geometric aberrations. We have considered a way to calculate such a system based on minimizing chromatic aberration. We presented the results of an experiment in which the modulation transfer function of a hybrid lens was directly determined.

Keywords: Diffraction lens, hybrid lens, chromatic aberration, geometric aberrations.
